Debate is someting interesting. Below is script that i made for Speaking 2 Test along with Mam.Rani as my teacher.

Commemorate the Kartini’s day on every 21 of April reminds us about the struggle for emancipation of women.

In this modern era, women are entitled to appear and to voice their aspirations. The right to free opinion but remains responsible for making women's right to go forward as a leader. The woman also has the right to be in control and at the tip of leadership.

Unfortunately, there are still many negative streotip against women. Women rated weak, emotional and often irrational.

Talk about emancipation, some people are support this but the other are still argues and refuses.

Well, Today we are going to debate on this issue, here we already have two teams.

On my right side there are Affirmative team and there are Negative teams on my left.

Before starting, I give a chance to the Affirmative team to introduce themself.

Affir : We are Affirmative team, my name is Gita, I am here with my partner, her name is Nur. We are supporters of the movement for the emancipation of women.

Judge : Ok, well. For The Negative Team, it’s your turn.

Nega : We are Negative team, my name is Idham and this is my partner, Lukman. We are a team who refused the movement of women emancipation.

Judge : Ok both teams already introduced themself, then let's start the debate today. Before that, I will read out the rules that you have to follow:

1. The parties may speak in accordance with the provisions of the judge

Well we will begin by hearing the opinions of each of the team members to our theme today.

For the Affirmative team, how do you think? Gita you first.

Gita : Indeed, the progress of women is not to be a rival for men, but in order to become a comparable partners. Now it's time for women to show its potential and not to be outdone by men. Due to the fact women can also become a leader.

Judge : How about you Nur?

Nur : he importance of the emancipation of women is to expand women's Association. With plenty of associating, it certainly will be a lot of information to be had and this will make women became intelligent and insightful, could be invited to discuss in many ways, including in the educational and development of the child. So woman must not be restricted in their associating.

Judge : Ok, there are some opinion from Affirative team. Now it’s time to Negative team. Please tell us your opinion about this issue. Idham, you may tell us.

Idham : At this time many women are enjoy with the profession that they have, for example, a housewife who is also a woman's career or profession as an Office menager and go home until late at night without thinking of his family only for reasons of professionalism which they should have in the world of work without thinking of their obligations as a good wife that should be able to keep her family's harmony. If like this, then emancipation thus give us bad impact.

Judge : How about you Lukman?

Lukmn : The concept of "women's Emancipation" is actually already being interpreted by women in this country who thinks that the emancipation of women was only demanding the same freedoms with men, when in fact if it were investigated much deeper, the emancipation of women has a broad sense of equality the logical thinking and got the same education with men to dig potentials and build the image of the nation. Women as supporters of civilization! Not because women are considered suitable for the task. It just because women give a great influence that can provide positive and negative effects. But that does not mean they can become leaders.

Judge : Ok that's the opinion of affirmative and negative teams. Affirmative teams support the movement for the emancipation of women demanding equal rights, but the negative team argued that the emancipation only gives a negative effect for women.

Ok let see who we will win in the debate this time.

For the affirmative Team, Idham said that this time, many women are enjoy with the profession that they. But many of them forget about their obligations as a good wife. What is your comment about the statement Gita?

Gita : I don't agree with Idham's opinion. The assumption that women's careers are forgetting her family is wrong. However, the woman is still a woman who has maternal instincts. Most women still choose her family as a top priority. Therefore, for women's careers, the quantity of meeting with family is not the main point, but the most important is the quality of the meeting. How women can devote all their affection to her family on the sidelines of a busy career woman.

Judge : Then you Nur, Lukman said that women can’t become a leader. How’s that?

Nur : I also do not agree with Lukman’s opinion. In Indonesia, there are no written rules forbidding women to be a leader. For example Tap MPR No. II/1973 stating, either male or female as long as meet the characteristics of a leader of a country, is allowed to go forward and was elected as a President of the society. So men are not supposed to repress women.

Judge : (Lukman mengangkat tangan) Ok please..,

Lukmn : It is true that there is no law forbidding women to be a leader. That means women have the opportunity. But, behind all of the opportunities that exist. Need to be recognized that women have a weakness if it is to be a leader. First, physical limitations and scope of the motion which belonged to women. Man was created with physical conditions that are more powerful and women a notch below it, how it makes against a women leaders will be different with a male leader.

Second, Lack of women leaders is the responsibility of them as a women: a wife and mother who actually already pretty heavy thing to do. The leader has a pretty heavy responsibility in each of their homes. Both the responsibilities and the role that should not be abandoned. Because when the woman forget her role as a wife and a mother, the world will close to the brink of collapse.

Judge : Idham you would say something?

Idham : I would like to respond about what Gita convey, earlier you said that most women prefer the family as a priority. but, Do we find the same fact in the society? Because according to me, the fact that happened, a lot of women career who can't share their time with family. and thus make the family itself to be not harmonious and eventually broken.

Judge : (Nur mengangkat tangan), Ok please.

Nur : In this day and age there are still those who count on working women. I think it is very out of date. As a reason, there may be a fear of those who do not like to be women's work. Whether it's fear of the family not groomed, afraid the women experience adverse events out there, fear of the position of women is higher, etc. But if examined more deeply again, surely everything there is a consequence. Not only women work only, but of all human action there must be consequences, live how we clever to handle it, that does not bring the ugliness. So, I think man should support women.

Judge : Man should support women,, ok. Well, Lukman also said that women is weak and they cant’t be a leader. How you answer it Gita?

Gita : I will answer Lukman’s opinion. Women not as strong as men, but to form a better new life, we can start the revolution from the leadership of women.

The woman could be a big change. We need a balance. We need the advantages and disadvantages of a female leader.

In the end all the shortcomings that exist is not an obstacle to building a better life. Although a woman's duty to be very heavy, but all that is actually able to they face with such force that no provision unexpected.

Many developed countries now have started to promote the campaign of female emancipation. This time it was time for women to get ahead.

Lukmn :(Mengangkat tangan) Are you really sure that women can lead properly without the aid of men?

Judge : Ok please.

Idham : (Mengangkat tangan)

Judge : Ok, please talk.

Idham : I don’t think so Lukman, Can You now see at the mall, the women prefer shopping compared to educate their children properly. This custom comes from the emancipation of women, which teaches equality rights which resulted in their main duty will they forget to give more motivation to the husband and son to success. If we rely on women to become leaders, I'm not sure these countries will be growing. Moreover, as a leader, certainly there will be many pressures faced. Basically she was weak and could only cry when there's a problem. Whereas, if we talk about the problems of the country, we are talking about people a lot. Quick action is needed, appropriate, and logical, as well as the ability to take risks. The woman is not necessarily capable of doing that.

Judge : Affirmative teams do you guys still have a defense? I think the Negative team provide a strong eough reason. Come on guys, think again.

Gita : Wouldn't any of us in the Organization is work with the team? Although we are women, certainly we have the same rights and obligations in the work in any field. And certainly we also got help from others.

Judge : Lukman, please talk.

Lukmn : That means you will tend to rely on existing grants, but less self-sufficient and not professional. So, as a woman, you should have already received your duties and responsibilities as a mother and a supporter of the man becomes the leader. Do not make the meaning of this emancipation became distorted and will eventually harm the woman herself.

Gita : (Mengangkat tangan)

Judge : Yes please

Gita : Emansipatin of women at this point not only equality between men and women. But now women needed to be more superior to the men. Since this time, the woman had to be strong to be able to defend hers pride. So that no woman is colonized by man. Women could work, women can be leaders and women could change this nation.

Idham : at this time many women who feel that she could be such a men. Working outside, highly educated and others. But in fact, women are still often complain if they have to do heavy duty. In fact the woman very need male guidance. How women can become a leader of the country if she is not capable to lead herself ?

Judge : How about you Lukman?

Lukmn : women haven't been able to control her emotions, because basically the woman born as emotional beings. The woman could not claim that they are same with men. Women are created not for it, but they were in support of what the man is doing time.

Nur : why should men only? Whereas women clearly can do what men do. There have been many examples of successful women, capable of being a role model.

Judge : Well.. you guys are just discussing about leadership, what about education. Currently I think education in Indonesia is already open for both men and women. Then what emancipation still want you guys stand for? Nur, what do you think?

Nur : A woman it must have high education and acquire the same science as men. Because women now are being required to be independent. It does not mean to violate her obligation. But to protect herself so they are not depend on others. If in the family there is no male, then women have to fight and protect the rights of the family.

Judge : Gita you wanna add?

Gita : The meaning emansiasi the right woman is the struggle of women for the sake of gaining suffrage and self-determination. Until now, the majority of women in Indonesia, especially in rural areas and the informal sector haven’t the right to choose and determine their own destiny, due to the perception of moral ethics, and legal genderisme. We want to eliminate that with the movement of the emancipation of women. So, with the movement, I hope there are no more women who do not get their due. Especially in education.

Judge : Gita and Nur said that women must have good education so that they can protect themselves and be independent without men. How about Negative team. Tell us your opinion.

Lukmn : women who do not work or are highly educated, does not mean she can't take care of the kids, they will certainly do, because it was their duty as a woman. Worse, if a child is growing up without the intervention of a mother, she will grow up to be a child who was not disciplined because of the lack of attention from a mother. What is the emancipation of women? Working women out there while the kids and her family abandoned?

Nur : It will be different. If the mother many experience and knowledge, she can teach their child better and she also can help when their child have a problem then, because she know about life.

Gita : why emancipation is not considered profitable? Or even negative? The emancipation of women giving birth to an intelligent woman, the woman who not only confined in a House and just do the work kitchen. But women that can be blasted a high education and social status can change in the environment of the community. Try to think of it, if there is no emansipation there is not an educated woman, no woman who works, what will happen if the man who was considered the leader of nothing? What kind of life will be in if the woman can only rely on a man?

Judge : Ok I think that’s all, The time is up. But before we close this debate. I want both of team to give your last statement about this issue. Start from Negative team.

Lukmn : we still disagree with the movement for the emancipation of women, as in the present, the emancipation only made an excuse for women to realize their personal desires and a lot of misconstrued interpret as freedom in all things. But it's definitely wrong, RA. Kartini fought for the emancipation of the period because the woman is indeed being chained ethical rules and customs. There is no justice for women to study or develop its potential. But now all of that is not there.

Judge : Ok, Afirmative team. Your turn.

Gita : the conclusions of our team is the emancipation of women is a right worth fighting for, but not excessive. Emancipation is an equal rights and opportunities given to women by way of Indonesia for fairly, and not exactly the same. Its relevance to the present is, how the women Indonesia living in this century can become the new kartini-kartini ably follows the response times and fast, producing a work, bring about change and fighting in their fields to contribute to the progress of the nation and the State, and the most important is, still did not forget his nature as a woman.
